Yesterday Fitbit released a new model of smart watches Versa, which she called a "smart clock for everyone." A number of Versa features and design make the comparison with Apple Watch imminent. In addition, Fitbit also announced Fitbit Ace - a smart bracelet for children - and a new version of its operating system.

Fitbit announced the "killer Apple Watch"

Fitbit claims that Versa is the "lightest metal smart watch" available in the US. They are equipped with a body of ultra-thin anodized aluminum, slightly rounded, to look good even on small wrists. The touch screen supports brightness up to 1000 nits, which allows users to see the contents even in bright sunlight. The battery should last for 4 days of battery life.
Fitbit Versa has most of the features typical of other models of this manufacturer: constant tracking of user's heartbeat, automatic transition to training mode, built-in music storage, automatic sleep tracking and contactless payments via NFC (available only in Fitbit Versa Special Edition). Fitbit also announced a variety of accessories - from classic bracelets, to designer leather or metal straps.
James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit, said:
Since wearable devices are becoming more common, Fitbit Versa responds to critical market demands by providing beautiful, full-featured smart cards that are easy to use at a competitive price. Versa offers consumers advanced functions for health and fitness. The novelty is compatible with modern mobile platforms and works for 4 days to constantly provide the user with information about the state of his health.
Pre-orders for Fitbit Versa are already open, the release will take place in April. The standard version costs $ 199.95 and is available in three colors: black with a black case, gray with a silver case, peach with a case of "pink gold". The Fitbit Versa Special Edition model with an NFC chip for contactless payments costs a bit more: $ 229.95.

Fitbit OS 2.0

Versa will be released with the new version of the Fitbit OS 2.0 system. It added a new personalized panel for more visually providing data about the health and activity of the user. Users will be able to see daily and weekly statistics, activity data, heart rate, brief information about the exercises, motivating messages, tips and plan for the day - all at your wrist.
Fitbit promises that over time this panel will become even more personalized: remind about events and meetings, add notes, provide sleep reports - all with tips for further action based on the collected data. All this will be available in Fitbit OS 2.0 later this year.
Let's note, that for today in shop Fitbit App Gallery is accessible more than 550 applications, many of which in the near future will be optimized for Versa.

Fitbit Ace

Fitbit Ace, child-oriented, will offer the basic functions of Fitbit in a simpler device. Users (the device is aimed at children 8+) will see that the bracelet automatically tracks the steps, physical activity and sleep. Using the family account of Fitbit, parents can control who their children are talking to in the Fitbit application.
The bracelet will remind the children that you need to move. If the child listens to advice, he will be rewarded with collectible virtual icons. Soon Fitbit will also launch daily and weekly competitions so that family members and friends can take care of their health by competing with each other. Together with this, Family Faceoff mode will appear, in which family members will try to collect as many points as possible in five days, performing exercises, passing certain distances, etc.
Pre-orders for Fitbit Ace are already open, the cost of the bracelet was $ 99.95. Two colors are available: blue and purple. It will be available for sale in the second quarter of this year (April-June).
